We just learned that About Miracles was nominated for awards in three categories at the 6th annual Pan Pacific Film Festival (PPFF) including Best Feature Documentary, Best Mission and Best “The Faithful.” It won the Stellae Award for Best “The Faithful” category! The awards garnered in 2014 for About Miracles are impressive, given the films tight budget and logistical obstacles. Director/Producer Chris Lang reflects: “We continue to thank God for affirming About Miracles and the amazing stories it tells. We could actually produce a documentary about the making of this film as we had many challenges and barriers. From dramatizing the helicopter flight to a high-tech brain operation to a dangerous crime of gun violence. But, God opened every door.”
God also led in the stories that Lifestreams Media selected. Lang continues, “After Marianela and Gladys’ stories, I was looking for the next one. During a Bible study class, while I was listening to Neville speak, God impressed me that I should talk to him. I didn’t understand at first, but after interviewing Neville, who lost his sight at the age of 12, it was very clear. God wants the world to understand what is the greatest miracle of all: someone who is healed on the inside with a changed heart. The powerful story about Brian’s gun shot wound came to us last; and again, it was so clearly brought to us by Providence.”
Psalm 32:8 says: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” Surely the Lord has led us on this journey and continues to do so. We give Him all the credit for the awards for About Miracles and our last film When Mourning Breaks.
