We’re excited to announce that Charmed By Darkness, the Life and Legacy of Roger Morneau won a GOLD REMI AWARD at the 2021 Worldfest Houston International Film Festival, one of the oldest and largest film festivals in the world! Over 4,500 films were submitted this year, and the winning films had to meet a minimum score by the judges based on 10 criteria. Charmed By Darkness scored between 90 and 95 out of 100 possible points!

The film presents dramatic reenactments of 1946 Roger Morneau with flashbacks to his New Brunswick childhood and his service in World War II.  Family and friends testify to the man they knew, the things he wrote about and those he prayed for.  In a world that increasingly doubts the Bible and a real Devil, Roger Morneau’s life story offers compelling evidence to the reality and relevance of the Great Controversy between Christ and Satan.  Roger was a demon worshiper who became a Christian author and founder of an international prayer ministry.  At the time of his death in 1998, his prayer list included more than 25,000 names.

Director Chris Lang comments: “As I look back to the start of this Roger Morneau legacy journey in January, 2014, I can only say it was much bigger than any of us had anticipated.  One documentary eventually became three (Charmed By Darkness, Beware of Angels and Mystified), along with a theatrical screenplay and a new book, Charmed By Darkness (2015) – the full manuscript of Roger Morneau’s conversion story – originally published as A Trip Into the Supernatural (1982).  Roger’s legacy reaches far and wide.  We praise God and pray that this award will help more viewers find the truth about Jesus through Roger’s amazing conversion and life story.”
